A one-hour documentary about the dynamic world of FreeFlight.
Today, some of the most cutting edge and dynamic flight occurs in aircrafts that weigh less than 50 pounds. Free Flight maximizes the pilot’s connection to the heavens by minimizing the aircraft.
We explored the world of Freeflight by sending Andrea Hilderbrand, a conventional pilot and aeronautical engineer, up in the air with top unconventional pilots in two forms of Free Flight.
Andrea’s adventure saw her skimming the surf and swooping through the miraculous cliffs of Hawaii in a powered ultralight. For good measure, she also launched off the windswept peaks of the Colorado Rockies and spiraled through snow-covered valleys in an unpowered paraglider that was little more than a wing with strings.
Along the way Andrea experienced the most beautiful, intimate and thrilling flights of her life.
